Hunter Tankers AS, a subsidiary of Hunter Group ASA, has taken delivery of seven scrubber fitted ECO design VLCCs from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea during 2019 and 2020, in which six are now owned by the company itself and one is owned by SFL Corporation Ltd., but is operated by Hunter Tankers AS pursuant to a sale-leaseback agreement.

Ro Sommernes has assisted Hunter Tankers AS with financing of the four newbuilds delivered in 2020, including execution of a loan agreement with a syndicate of banks, follow-up of the loan agreement and advise in connection with delivery of the vessels.

“Hunter Atla” and “Hunter Saga” were previously financed by a sale-leaseback transaction with SFL Corporation Ltd. In connection with Hunter Tankers AS exercising its call option under the sale-lease back agreements and repurchasing these two vessels, Ro Sommernes assisted with completion of an increase of the loan facility to facilitate refinancing of the vessels.
